The Ryde and Macquarie Park area is undergoing continuous commercial and residential development, with new office towers, apartment complexes, and university facilities driving construction activity. Workers entering building sites in the Ryde area — whether for new builds or major refurbishments — need to hold a current white card.

What CPCCWHS1001 Covers
White Card in Ryde — FAQs
How long does a white card course take?
A white card course takes approximately 6 hours of face-to-face training — typically a single day. Some providers offer morning-only sessions starting early. You receive your Statement of Attainment on the same day, and your physical white card is issued by SafeWork NSW within approximately 10 business days.
Does a white card expire?
No. A white card issued in any Australian state does not expire and is valid for life, unless it is formally revoked by a regulator. It is also valid across all states and territories — you do not need a separate card for each state.
How do I get my physical white card in NSW?
After you complete CPCCWHS1001 with an RTO, the provider submits your completion to SafeWork NSW. SafeWork NSW then posts your physical white card to the address you provide. This typically takes 10 business days. You will receive a Statement of Attainment on the training day which serves as proof of completion while you wait for the card.
Can I do the white card course online?
No. Since 2018, SafeWork NSW no longer accepts online-only white card training for NSW workers. You must complete the course face to face with a registered training organisation. Some interstate RTOs still offer online delivery, but NSW will not issue a card based on online-only training.
How much does a white card course cost?
White card courses in NSW typically cost between $80 and $120 per person. Prices vary by provider and location. Group bookings for construction companies may attract a lower per-person rate.
